University of Texas Rio Grande Valley

University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is a public research university located in the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas, United States. The institution was formed in 2015 by the Texas Legislature through the merger of the University of Texas–Pan American and University of Texas at Brownsville. The university is part of the University of Texas System and has campuses in Edinburg, Brownsville, Harlingen, McAllen, and Rio Grande City. The history of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley dates back to the establishment of Pan American University in 1927 and Texas Southmost College in 1926, which later became the University of Texas–Pan American and University of Texas at Brownsville, respectively.
