Singapore University of Technology and Design

Singapore University of Technology and Design is a public autonomous university established in 2009 in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Zhejiang University. The university is one of the youngest institutions in Singapore, alongside the Singapore Institute of Technology and Singapore University of Technology and Design's peer institution, the Nanyang Technological University. The university's establishment was supported by the Ministry of Education and the Economic Development Board. The university's founding was also influenced by the Global Foundries and ST Engineering.

The history of the university dates back to 2009 when it was first announced by the Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during the National Day Rally.
