Geography

History

The area now known as Campbell, California was originally inhabited by the Ohlone people, and was later settled by Benjamin Campbell, a San Francisco businessman, who founded the city in 1885. The city was named after Benjamin Campbell, and was officially incorporated in 1952. Campbell is located near Saratoga, which was founded by Martin McCarthy, and is close to Los Gatos, which was founded by Juan Bautista de Anza.
