In 1992, Sali Berisha became the President of Albania, serving until 1997. The party has since then alternated in power with the Socialist Party of Albania, with Edi Rama and Sali Berisha being some of the most influential leaders.

Ideology and Platform

The Democratic Party of Albania is known for its pro-European stance and commitment to NATO integration. The party supports market-oriented economic policies, privatization, and foreign investment to stimulate economic growth.
