United Club

United Club is a network of airport lounges operated by United Airlines, offering a range of amenities and services to its members, including American Express cardholders, Chase Bank customers, and Star Alliance passengers. The lounges provide a comfortable and convenient space for travelers to relax, work, and enjoy complimentary food and beverages before their flights, similar to those offered by Delta Air Lines' Delta Sky Club and American Airlines' Admirals Club. United Club members can also access lounges operated by Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, and Air Canada, among other Star Alliance partners. Additionally, United Club members can earn and redeem United MileagePlus miles, which can be used to book flights on United Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and other partner airlines.

History

The United Club concept was introduced by United Airlines in the 1980s, with the first lounge opening at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Since then, the network has expanded to include over 45 locations worldwide, including San Francisco International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, and Washington Dulles International Airport. The lounges have undergone several renovations and upgrades over the years, with the most recent redesign inspired by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and featuring modern amenities and sustainable materials, similar to those used by Virgin Atlantic and Cathay Pacific. United Club has also partnered with The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Forbes to offer members access to digital content and news.

Amenities

United Club lounges offer a range of amenities, including complimentary food and beverages, such as Starbucks coffee, Heineken beer, and Grey Goose vodka. Members can also enjoy comfortable seating, Wi-Fi connectivity, and access to CNN, BBC, and ESPN on large screens, similar to the amenities offered by Qatar Airways' Al Mourjan Business Lounge and Emirates' Business Class Lounge. Some locations feature shower facilities, United Airlines-branded merchandise, and American Express-sponsored amenities, such as Centurion Lounge-style dining and Platinum Card-exclusive services. United Club members can also take advantage of United Airlines' partnership with Hyatt Hotels Corporation to earn and redeem points at Hyatt Regency and Park Hyatt properties.

United Club lounges are located at major airports around the world, including London Heathrow Airport, Tokyo Narita International Airport, and Sydney Airport. In the United States, lounges can be found at Los Angeles International Airport, Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and Denver International Airport, among others. United Club members can also access lounges operated by Air Canada at Toronto Pearson International Airport and Vancouver International Airport, as well as Lufthansa-operated lounges at Frankfurt Airport and Munich Airport. Additionally, United Club members can visit Singapore Airlines-operated lounges at Singapore Changi Airport and Hong Kong International Airport.

Access

Access to United Club lounges is available to United Airlines passengers holding a same-day boarding pass, as well as United MileagePlus members with Premier status or higher. American Express cardholders, including Platinum Card and Centurion Card members, can also access United Club lounges, as can Chase Bank customers with United Explorer Card or United Club Card. Additionally, Star Alliance passengers with Gold status or higher can access United Club lounges when traveling on a Star Alliance-operated flight, including those operated by Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, and Air Canada. United Club members can also bring guests, subject to certain restrictions and fees, similar to the guest policies of Delta Sky Club and Admirals Club.
