There, he studied acting, poetry, and music, forming foundational relationships with peers like Jada Pinkett Smith. Music Career

Shakur's music career began as a roadie and backup dancer for the Oakland-based group Digital Underground. His solo debut, 2Pacalypse Now (1991), garnered attention for its politically charged content but also controversy, notably cited in a dispute involving Vice President Dan Quayle. He achieved mainstream success with his sophomore album, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z... (1993), and later signed with Death Row Records, releasing the landmark double album All Eyez on Me (1996). His prolific output, characterized by raw emotion and complex narratives, included multi-platinum albums like Me Against the World (1995) and posthumous releases such as The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory under the alias Makaveli.

Acting Career

Parallel to his music, Shakur pursued a significant acting career, earning critical acclaim for his performances. His film debut was in Juice (1992), followed by starring roles in John Singleton's Poetic Justice (1993) alongside Janet Jackson, and Above the Rim (1994). His final completed film, Gridlock'd (1997), was released posthumously. Personal Life

Shakur's personal life was tumultuous and highly publicized. He was frequently embroiled in legal battles, including a 1994 conviction for sexual assault, and was the victim of a 1994 robbery and shooting at Quad Recording Studios in New York City. His involvement in the escalating East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry placed him in a highly publicized feud with The Notorious B.I.G. and Sean Combs' Bad Boy Records. Death and Legacy

On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting on Las Vegas Boulevard following a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. He died six days later at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. His murder remains officially unsolved. Shakur's legacy is immense; he is one of the best-selling music artists of all time and a central figure in hip hop culture.
