Michigan Technological University

Michigan Technological University is a public research university located in Houghton, Michigan, United States. It was founded in 1885 as the Michigan Mining School with the support of Jay Abel Hubbell, a Michigan State Senator, and Alexander Macdonald, a Copper Country businessman. The university is situated in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, near the Keweenaw Waterway and Lake Superior.
