History

The Health Education Campus was established through a partnership between Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic, with support from Ohio Governor John Kasich, Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, and Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish. The campus was designed by Foster + Partners, a renowned architectural firm that has worked on projects such as the Apple Park and the London City Hall, in collaboration with Perkins+Will, HOK, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The construction of the campus was made possible through funding from The Cleveland Foundation, The George Gund Foundation, and The Nord Family Foundation, as well as support from The Rockefeller Foundation, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and The Ford Foundation. The Health Education Campus has been recognized for its innovative design and commitment to sustainability, earning awards from The American Institute of Architects, The United States Green Building Council, and The National Association of Home Builders, similar to those received by University of California, Berkeley, University of Washington, and Georgia Institute of Technology.
