Yagami Campus

Yagami Campus. It is the primary and largest campus of Kobe University, situated in the Nada Ward of Kobe, Japan. Established in 1929, the campus serves as the central hub for the university's scientific and engineering disciplines, housing several key graduate schools and research institutes. History

The campus originated with the founding of the Kobe University of Commerce in 1929, which later evolved into the School of Business Administration of Kobe University. Following the reorganization of the national university system after World War II, the campus expanded significantly. Major development occurred in the 1960s and 1970s, consolidating faculties relocated from other sites like the Rokkō Campus. The campus sustained damage during the Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995 but underwent extensive reconstruction, with many of its current modern facilities built or renovated thereafter.
