Sir Nigel Shadbolt

Sir Nigel Shadbolt Sir Nigel Shadbolt is a British computer scientist and academic. He is known for his work in artificial intelligence, computer science, and data science. Early life and education

Shadbolt was born in England. He studied Computer Science at the University of Cambridge, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then pursued his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory, under the supervision of Professor David L. Donoho and Professor Christopher Strachey.

Academic career

Shadbolt began his academic career as a research fellow at the University of Cambridge. He then moved to the University of Southampton, where he held the position of reader in Computer Science. In 2006, he was appointed as the Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southampton. Shadbolt has also held visiting positions at various institutions, including MIT, Stanford University, and University of California, Berkeley.

Shadbolt's research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. He has made significant contributions to the development of semantic web technologies and knowledge engineering.
