Designed by the renowned architectural firm HOK Sport (now Populous), the arena's exterior features a distinctive brick facade that complements other campus structures like Jesse Hall. The interior is configured with a steep seating bowl to enhance sightlines, culminating in an upper concourse known as "The Zone." Key features include 24 luxury suites, the Legends Club for premium seating, and a massive center-hung video board. The playing floor is named "Norm Stewart Court" in honor of the legendary Missouri Tigers men's basketball coach, and the facility also houses dedicated practice facilities for both basketball programs.

It is the annual site for the University of Missouri commencement ceremonies, welcoming speakers such as former U.S. President Harry S. Truman. The arena has also been selected for NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament early-round games and serves as a venue for high school state championship tournaments sanctioned by the Missouri State High School Activities Association.
