Design and Development

Vessels and Classes

The first class, the **Ada-class corvette**, includes lead ship TCG Heybeliada and sister ships TCG Büyükada, TCG Burgazada, and TCG Kınalıada. These multi-role corvettes are equipped for anti-submarine warfare, surface warfare, and air defense. The subsequent and larger **Istanbul-class frigate** is an evolved design, with the lead ship TCG Istanbul launched in 2021. Operational History

The Ada-class corvettes have since participated in numerous NATO exercises, including Sea Breeze and Dynamic Manta, and have conducted sovereign patrols in contested waters of the Eastern Mediterranean. The program has fostered technical cooperation with companies like Lockheed Martin for certain sensor integrations and ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems for design consultancy in its early phases.
