Lorenzo Brino

Lorenzo Brino was an American actor best known for his role as Sam Camden on the long-running family drama series 7th Heaven. His career began in early childhood, leading to roles in several television films and a notable presence in the early 2000s ABC sitcom 8 Simple Rules. Brino's life and career were tragically cut short in a 2019 traffic collision.

Early life

Lorenzo Brino was born on May 9, 1999, in Los Angeles, California. He was the twin brother of actor Nikolas Brino, and the two were adopted as infants by parents of Italian and Irish descent. Alongside his twin and their other adopted siblings, including actor Brennan, he was raised in a family deeply involved in the entertainment industry. The Brino twins began their professional acting careers at the age of three, initially appearing in commercials before securing their breakthrough roles.

Career

Brino's major career breakthrough came in 2002 when he and his twin brother, Nikolas, were cast to share the role of Sam Camden on the WB network series 7th Heaven, starring alongside Stephen Collins and Catherine Hicks. He appeared on the show until its conclusion in 2007. Concurrently, he and his brother guest-starred in episodes of popular series such as The Guardian and 8 Simple Rules, where they played the grandsons of character Paul Hennessy, portrayed by John Ritter. His film work included the 2004 television film The Sure Hand of God, and he later provided voice work for the 2007 animated feature The Ten Commandments. Following the end of 7th Heaven, Brino stepped back from regular acting to focus on his education.

Personal life

Brino attended public schools in San Diego County and was a graduate of Steele Canyon High School. He was an avid fan of motorsport and developed a passion for working on and driving performance cars. In the years prior to his death, he had been working in the automotive repair industry. He maintained a close relationship with his family, particularly his twin brother Nikolas, and was remembered by former co-stars from 7th Heaven as a kind and positive individual.

Death

On March 8, 2019, Brino was involved in a serious traffic collision in San Diego, California. He was a passenger in a Toyota pickup truck that was struck by another vehicle; the driver of the truck, his friend Volodymyr Zhukovskyy, was also critically injured. Brino was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. The San Diego Police Department investigated the incident, which was widely reported by outlets including CNN and *People* magazine, prompting an outpouring of tributes from the entertainment community and fans of 7th Heaven.
