Diane Farr

Diane Farr. An American actress, author, and television host recognized for her roles in prominent network television series and her work as a correspondent. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Megan Reeves on the CBS crime drama Numb3rs and for her role as Lizzie in the Showtime series Californication. Farr has also authored books on dating and relationships and served as a co-host on the syndicated talk show The Talk during its inaugural season.

Early life and education

Diane Farr was born in New York City and was raised in Westchester County. Her mother, Joan, was a teacher, and her father, Bob Farr, worked in advertising. She attended Fox Lane High School in Bedford, New York, where she was actively involved in theater. Farr pursued higher education at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, graduating with a degree in English literature. During her university years, she spent a semester abroad studying at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England.

Career

Farr began her career in entertainment as a VJ for the MTV game show Lip Service. She transitioned to acting with guest roles on series such as Law & Order and The Drew Carey Show. Her breakthrough came with a series regular role on the Fox sitcom The Job, starring alongside Denis Leary. She later starred as Megan Reeves, an FBI agent, on the long-running CBS procedural Numb3rs, a role she played from 2005 to 2010. Concurrently, Farr appeared as the free-spirited Lizzie on Showtime's Californication. Other notable television credits include a main role on the ABC drama The Whole Truth and recurring parts on Rescue Me and Roswell. Beyond acting, Farr is a published author, having written the book The Girl Code. She also served as one of the original co-hosts on the CBS daytime talk show The Talk in 2010.

Personal life

In 2006, Farr married Seung Yong Chung, a Korean-American entrepreneur she met through an online dating service. The couple resides in Los Angeles with their three children. Farr has been open about her experiences with IVF and surrogacy in building their family. She is an advocate for fertility awareness and has discussed these topics on various media platforms including The Dr. Oz Show.
