Adelaide Strikers. The Adelaide Strikers are a professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team that competes in Australia's premier domestic Big Bash League. The franchise was formed in 2011 alongside the Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder as the Big Bash League replaced the previous KFC Twenty20 Big Bash competition. The Adelaide Strikers' primary home venue is the historic Adelaide Oval, a major Test cricket and sporting venue located in the parklands north of the Adelaide city centre. The ground underwent a significant redevelopment completed in 2014, which increased its capacity and modern facilities while retaining its classic character, such as the Edwardian era scoreboard and the cathedral views. On rare occasions, the team has also hosted matches at other South Australian venues, including Karen Rolton Oval. The Oval's pitch conditions are generally considered favorable for batting, often leading to high-scoring contests that attract large crowds, creating a formidable home advantage for the Strikers.

Travis Head holds the record for most career runs for the club, while leg-spinner Rashid Khan is the leading wicket-taker. The record partnership for any wicket is 151, set by Matthew Short and D'Arcy Short against the Hobart Hurricanes in 2023.
